Reflections & Gratitude after MIB: Speaking beyond borders

When I first walked into the Mums in Business (MIB) event, I could feel the energy. The room buzzed with possibility - entrepreneurs, leaders, and changemakers from around the globe, all gathered in one place. These weren’t just professionals attending another networking event; they were people with stories, visions, and a hunger for creating something bigger than themselves.
And then, it was my turn to step onto the stag and start the event off with a bang.
Speaking internationally is never something I take lightly. For me, it’s not about showcasing expertise or reciting rehearsed lines. It’s about connection. Every time I share my voice in an international space, I’m reminded of the responsibility and privilege it carries. The responsibility to speak with authenticity, and the privilege of being part of a conversation that stretches far beyond borders.
What I Took Away From MIB
Authority Being invited to speak reminded me that authority doesn’t come from titles, credentials, or being the loudest in the room. It comes from standing rooted in your values and sharing them with clarity. When we dare to speak from the heart, we show others that leadership can look - and feel - different.
Impact The sessions, the Q&A moments, even the quick conversations over coffee reminded me that impact isn’t always measured in applause or big gestures. Sometimes, it’s one phrase that resonates, one idea that lingers, or one person who leaves with a new perspective. The ripple effect is real, and we can’t always see where it ends.
Collaboration Perhaps the most powerful part of MIB was the reminder that no leader stands alone. When we come together - across cultures, industries, and backgrounds - we create space for innovation and empathy. Collaboration at this level doesn’t just move businesses forward; it moves humanity forward.
A Moment of Gratitude
I left MIB with a full heart.
Grateful to the organisers who created such a seamless and inspiring event.
Grateful to the fellow speakers who shared their wisdom with generosity.
Grateful to the audience who listened with curiosity and openness.
The Bigger Truth
For me, MIB reinforced a belief that guides my work every single day: leadership is no longer about status or titles - it’s about conscious connection.
When we show up authentically, when we value collaboration over competition, and when we measure success not just by growth but by impact - that’s when we create change worth remembering.
As I reflect on this experience, I carry with me not only the gratitude of being part of MIB but also the reminder that every international stage is more than a platform. It’s an opportunity to co-create a future where leadership is rooted in values, empathy, and connection.
And that’s a stage I’ll step onto again and again.
